Dr. Artis most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Vision Source, one of the nation’s largest private optometry networks, which was acquired by global leader EssilorLuxottica, S.A. in 2015. Dr. Artis helped spearhead Vision Source’s growth from 1800 offices to more than 3300 offices with annual sales of over $2B. After two years of leading the Essilor integration, Dr. Artis was appointed Senior Vice President of Business Solutions at Essilor in 2017.

Prior to Vision Source, Dr. Artis served as the Director of Medical Affairs at Johnson & Johnson Corporation (NYSE: JNJ) where he built an eight-doctor medical affairs team that helped drive the launch of several market-leading contact lenses.

Dr. Artis started his career in 1990 in private practice and transitioned into full-time healthcare management in 2000 as the Director of Professional Affairs for For Eyes Optical where he helped the company grow from 80 to 115 retail locations and $100M in annual revenue.
