Duncan F. Young serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Effective School Solutions (ESS), an organization devoted to helping K-12 school districts re-invent the way they provide mental health care.

Before joining ESS, Mr. Young served as the Chief Executive Officer of Envision, the nation’s largest provider of career exploration programs that serves over 25,000 K-12 students annually.

Prior to his time at Envision, Mr. Young spent almost 10 years at Scholastic Inc., where he held a variety of operating roles, including six years as Senior Vice President of Scholastic Achievement Partners, the company’s teacher professional development and school consulting division.

Mr. Young joined Scholastic from Bain & Co., where he worked with companies across various industries, and he began his career in the U.S. Navy, where he served as a meteorology and oceanography officer.

Mr. Young earned a B.S. in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and he also earned an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a Siebel Scholar and a Palmer Scholar.
