Robert A. Kline is an entrepreneur and executive with over 25 years of experience in the healthcare and life science industries. Mr. Kline has served as CEO of numerous life science companies, most notably Medivance Corporation, where he served as Founder, President and CEO and built the company into the worldwide leader in therapeutic hypothermia treatment for critically ill patients before ultimately being acquired by C.R. Bard Corporation (NYSE: BCR) in 2011. Soon thereafter, Mr. Kline was named Entrepreneur of the Year for the Mountain/Desert Region by Ernst and Young.
Currently, Mr. Kline serves as the President and CEO of JustRight Surgical, LLC. JustRight Surgical develops and markets, mini-laparoscopic surgical devices that improve and enable laparoscopic procedures in patients where access is limited and visibility reduced.
Prior to JustRight, Mr. Kline served as the President and CEO of EndoShape®, Inc., a company developing unique vascular embolization products based on its proprietary shape memory polymer material.
Mr. Kline has also served as the Founder, President and CEO of ViroCyt®, Inc., a biotech tools company. ViroCyt was founded to develop, and commercialize, rapid virus quantification methods which can be used to accelerate development of new vaccines and gene therapy applications. The company’s products were quickly adopted by leading pharmaceutical and biotech companies, and ViroCyt was acquired by Sartorius AG (EPA: DIM) in July 2016.
Mr. Kline earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado, a Master’s in Science in Microbiology from the University of Illinois and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Colorado College.
