A high-impact strategist and visionary leader with a 30-year track record of leading and growing healthcare organizations, Teri G. Fontenot currently dedicates her professional life to board service and adding shareholder value through effective governance and strategic direction.
Ms. Fontenot currently serves on the board of directors of AMN Healthcare Services (NYSE: AMN), the country’s largest healthcare staffing company, as a member of the audit and governance/nominating committees.
Ms. Fontenot served on the board of directors of the LHC Group, one of the country’s largest home health companies (NASDAQ: LHCG), as a member of the audit committee (as Chairwoman) as well as the business development committee and the clinical quality committee until LHC’s recent acquisition by UnitedHealthcare (NYSE: UNH).
Ms. Fontenot serves on the board of directors of Amerisafe (NASDAQ: AMSF), one of the country’s largest specialty providers of hazardous industry worker’s compensation insurance, as a member of the audit, governance/nominating and risk committees.
As a trailblazer in the non-for-profit healthcare system industry, Ms. Fontenot served as the CEO of the Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from 1996 – 2019, during which time she engineered a financial turnaround that increased net assets five-fold and established the quaternary regional referral system as a national leader in women’s health, and she now serves as the CEO Emeritus. Ms. Fontenot also serves on the board of directors of the $7B Orlando Health System as a member of the executive committee.
A former Chairwoman of the board of directors of the American Hospital Association (AHA) and recipient of the AHA’s Distinguished Service Award in 2020, Ms. Fontenot is a former member of the board of directors for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, Georgia.
Ms. Fontenot received a B.B.A. degree from the University of Mississippi and an M.B.A. degree from Northeast Louisiana University.
