Before joining Havencrest as an Operating Partner, Walter J. (Walt) Humann served as President and Chief Executive Officer of OsteoMed, L.L.C., a leading surgical device manufacturer, a tenure culminating in a successful exit for the Pritzker family of investors to a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK).
Previously, Mr. Humann served as Chief Financial Officer of RealPage Inc. (NASDAQ: RP), the global leader in real estate property management software and services, where he helped facilitate the spinoff from its parent company, led all growth activities and completed several acquisitions as well as the pre-IPO financing activities.
Mr. Humann has also served as Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of Leibinger, LP, a surgical device manufacturer. Mr. Humann successfully helped sell the German owned company to Stryker, Inc. (NYSE: SYK) while managing and growing the company in progressive leadership positions including COO, CFO and General Manager.
Mr. Humann has served on numerous profit and not-for-profit boards, including the Medical Device Manufacturing Association (MDMA) in Washington D.C., the Perot Museum of Science and Nature and the Frontiers of Flight Museum (Founding Member).
Mr. Humann serves as Chairman of the Executive Advisory Committee of the University of Texas at Austin’s College of Engineering, Biomedical Department. Mr. Humann is a current active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and the Salesmanship Club of Dallas.
Mr. Humann holds an M.B.A. in Marketing, Finance and Entrepreneurship from Southern Methodist University and a B.B.A. in Business Management from the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Humann is an avid private pilot and fly fisherman who resides in Dallas with Suzanne, his wife of 34 years, and their four children.
